Volunteers gather to help complete first phase of Ogden’s dog park
By JESSICA MILLER

OGDEN — The city is now one step closer to having a finished dog park along the Ogden River Parkway.
Seventy employees of the Wadman Corporation worked all day Friday to complete Phase 1 of the new dog park in Miles Goodyear Park, 2542 “A” Ave. The 2.5-acre park was fenced, sod was laid down and trees were planted.
“Our goal is to get the sprinkler system in, the lawn, fencing and to plant a few trees,” said Tyler Hollon, Wadman director of construction. “That gets them to where they are open to the community.”
The company also did preparation work on the nearby kayak park.
The company volunteers time twice a year to help a community organization as part of its leadership conference. They decided this year to help with the new dog park.
“As we looked around at different areas that needed help, we were fascinated by the trail and kayak park,” said Keith Buswell, vice president of business development. “This will be a great first step and a jumpstart to their project.”
Hollon said the twoday leadership conference culminates with the community project.
“It’s been everybody’s favorite part, to give back to the community that has given to us,” he said.
Superintendent Cody Martin said a day outside laying down sod was a nice change from a normal Friday afternoon for him.
“For me, it’s great,” he said. “I don’t have to tell anyone what to do, I can just be part of a team.”
Ogden paid for many of the supplies for the dog park through Weber County RAMP funding, while Wadman donated labor. Mountain States Fence, Montgomery Excavation, Envision Plumbing, and Hull Landscaping also donated labor or supplies to the project.
The dog park eventually will feature watering stations, pavilions, an agility course, and an area designated for small dogs. It’s expected to be open to the public in about six weeks.

Here is an article that was written by the Standard Examiner for the service project my company did on Friday, April, 16, 2010. It is so fun to take the time and do a service project for our community. Also nice to spend the time with co-workers that are usually on jobsite and rarely in the office. I also made the paper which is cool!

Well it has been such a long time since I have been on here. Not a lot was changing but in the last few weeks there has been a lot going on. My Cousins little boy Kayden who is 3 is needing kinship placement through DCFS he is currently with my grandparents but they are not a permanent solution so me and Mark have started the process to be his kinship guardians. That being said we need to be married or Mark needs to move out until we are.

My only hiccup for not getting married was that I wanted Mark to pay his tax debt. Needless to say now that we have this opportunity to possibly get Kayden Mark has figured a way to take care of the debt. With all that being said we have set a date 1-1-10.

If any of you would like an invitation please send me your address to labradorlover1@yahoo.com I would love to have you all. This has been a long time coming for me and we are both very excited!!!!!

Tested

Well it has been a little while since I have posted anything. Things sure have been a little crazy for the last few months. Just before Christmas I had a close co-worker pass away and it seems like since then there has been this dark cloud around work. I have known several people at worked who haved lossed people due to deaths, people that have terminal illnesses and recently the company I work for did layoffs. I lost a lot of people I was close to in that layoff and it is a very hard situation to deal with. When you spend most of your time at work you feel like family. I feel like all have done the past few months is grieve in one form or another. Nothing feels "normal" right now. I am so hopeful that things will start to get and feel better. There has to be a light at the end of the tunnel.

One things that was great is my best friend Johnny and his partner Paul came to visit from Florida March 3-9 for his brothers wedding and that was a much needed break. It was one of the first times in a long time I have been able to let go and have fun and LAUGH hysterically. Of course I miss him dearly already. Thanks guys for the time we had to spend together it was great.

My brother and his wife also both lost their jobs and haven't been able to find anything. They had to sell their house and have moved in with my mom. So we are all very close now. So if anyone heres of any jobs I know a lot of people who are looking for work.

Until next time

Wonder what 2009 will bring...

Well I can't believe we are starting a new year. They last month has been really crazy some good and some not so good. I am just hoping for a better year. I'm hoping that if everything works out this will be my year for some of my dreams to come true. These are dreams I have had for a very long time...
Marriage I hope Mark will be able to take care of the things we have agreed to before getting married so it can happen this year. I was thinking maybe 9/9/09 wouldn't that be cool. The only thing I don't like about it is its a Wednesday. Only time will tell. So get cracking Mark.
Having a baby....I am so ready I have wanted this for as long as I can remember. Back in 2005 I even had a life changing event and I made a commitment to myself and my future children...this was such an amazing experience and I knew one way or another I would live that dream. With the help of My POWER PARTNER DON WHITE and other co-workers support I knew eventually this would become reality. I even started a "baby fund" and was ready to go through the process of "Artificial In*********". I Never quite got together all the money needed but know I don't have to.

This year I didn't make any resolutions but I am looking forward to what the new year will bring. I hope for all of you that it brings you a lot of good things as well.

Power Partner Don White

Brett, Heidi, Don, Shannon, Tyler
This week has been a hard week I lost someone who meant a lot to me my Power Partner Don White who passed away unexpectedly on December 16, 2008. For those of you that are wondering what a power partner is I have the fortunate opportunities to attend Rapport training through Wadman Corporation and this training is amazing there are several different classes the one I am referring to is LB2. I experienced a life changing event and made a personal commitment for myself this was not an easy thing to do however with the strength of a partner like Don anything is possible. He was standing there for me at the end of my task and he caught me literally and for those of you that know Don he has bad legs and with everything he had he held me, supported me and then gave me the biggest hug that only he could give. For those of you that are wondering what this life changing event was all will be known in due time. I will gladly tell you about rapport training and you can make the decision if you want to go.

In reflecting these past couple of days I have had so many wonderful memories of Don in the past 13 years I have worked with him. He was such an amazing person and was there for anyone. He always kept you guessing and laughing. From things like telling you to pull his finger you all know what happens then, asking him How are you? his answer "Peachy", when it was your birthday he would always with you "Happy Stinkin Birthday". I could go on forever about all the different things that he has done and how he has affected people's lives.

He was also a wonderful family man he treated his wife Trudi like a queen he loved her more than anything they were married in 1991 and you would thought they were newlyweds. He also loved his three boys Bradon, Shane and Kade they were his life.

The world has lost a wonderful husband, father and friend.
I love you and will miss you dearly my friend

Newbie

Well I am new to the blogging world. The most exciting thing that has happened to me recently is getting engaged to Mark Willerton on October 3, 2008. We do not have a date set yet for the wedding. All will be known in due time. We are living together in Clearfield along with my 2 labs Babygirl and Bear who are our kids for now.
